Sunday Shout-Out #8: A special family edition, in honor of The Wife and The Sister

This week’s Sunday Shout Out is a special family edition with the honors going to The Wife @ Dispatches from the Northern Outpost and my sister @ Boondock Ramblings.

The Wife doesn’t blog enough unfortunately, so I won’t be sharing as many of her posts, but her blog is still worth checking out for her unique take on the world…

…and The Sister, well, she blogs waaaaay too much especially about her son, my nephew Jonathan (no, really, she does, he’s cute and all, but hey, we have a cute cat, but do you see me blogging about him all the time? ummmm, no).

However, despite that one flaw with her blog (which I can stomach because well, he is a cute kid and he is my nephew after all), my sister is a good writer, even if she can’t spell sometimes– and forgets to proofread her posts once in a while before hitting “publish” (of course, I overuse parentheses and probably since I’m writing this post at 2 a.m., it probably will have more than its share of errors also). To show you how much I love The Toddler as she calls him, see this post which she wrote about me and him.

Most Sundays I’ve been also providing a list of my favorite posts of the week, but this week I’m not going to lie, I was a little busy and didn’t get around to visit everyone as much as I would have liked. Instead, I’m going to leave you with a few posts of sibling rivalry between my sister and me.

The latest punch was thrown by her on Thursday with The one where I harass Brother, but believe me, this isn’t the only one with which she has harassed me. Here’s yet another one in which she harassed me: Stop the presses! Brother has updated his blog!

As for my harassing of her, I’ve only done it a few times here on this blog:

1. Like the time I didn’t think she was eating pot,
2. Or when I compared our cat to The Toddler.
3. Or when I posted those blackmail photos of her and her room.
4. Or I made fun of her for a phone call she made to me.
5. Or I recounted our family’s annual Christmas pilgrimage to N.C.
6. Or my last minor slam on her when I said she was adopted.

Interestingly, at least to me, No. 3 and No. 6 both have been very popular posts in searches.

The last one, though, I actually called her up before posting to make sure she wouldn’t be mad with me if I did post it. She said she’d be mad, and so I posted it anyway.

Actually she said she wouldn’t be and that she’d retaliate later with a post of her own, which she since has. Underneath all the jibes we toss back and forth, though, we love each other. Not all siblings can say that, and I’m just thankful I have a sister about which I can say: She’s all right… well…sometimes…except when she has PMS, then you don’t want to go near her. No, really. She’s an unholy terror.
