I’m getting to this week’s review of my week and your week in blogging a little bit late. I hope y’all will forgive me, but I was working at the bookstore earlier today and I haven’t gotten back on my blogging schedule. So without further, adieu, first, my week in blogging and then a look back at those blog posts of yours that caught my eyes:
ME
@ an unfinished person (in an unfinished universe)
- Sunday: I began the week here with a review of The Story of A Soul: The Autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux for my Sustenance Sunday post, which was cross-posted at Journeying with the Saints and also at Just A (Reading) Fool.
- Monday: I responded to a post from my sister called Stop the presses! Brother has updated his blog!, I titled my second “official” Meandering Monday post, which is a cross-post at unfinished rambling(s), Meandering Monday #2: Stop the presses! I’ve posted on my blog! Sex, drugs, rock ‘n’ roll!.
- Tuesday: For my Tuesday’s Tunes post, I highlighted 1,000 Recordings To Hear Before You Die, a book by NPR reviewer and music journalist Tom Moon.
- Thursday: For Thirsty Thursday, I cross-posted with Just A (Reading) Fool from Booking Through Thursday about tomes sitting on my shelves
- Friday: I responded to a meme from my friend Don @ Don’stuff in which he asked me about my quirks and addictions in a post called These are a few of my (favorite?) quirks. I also cross-posted this one at unfinished rambling(s).
Just A (Reading) Fool
In addition to the two posts already mentioned, I only had really one post this week and that was participating in Friday Finds, in which I highlighted two books, one on Dr. Who, the other on Superman.
unfinished rambling(s)
In addition to the Meandering Monday post and the meme to which I responded mentioned above, I had three other posts on this blog:
- WTF (Mostly) Wordless Wednesday #1: Duct tape arboriculture, which was the beginning of a new feature at the blog, where I will post of something I’ve seen around where I live (sans Photoshop) that made me go WTF?
- For my new feature Flashback Friday, I cheated this week after seeing a post by Muskrat on Thursday about a giveaway that Backpacking Dad was having. The contest centered around answer which character from The Breakfast Club or Sixteen Candles you most identify and ended Thursday night so I posted then. My post was called The Breakfast Club revisited: Hey, hey, hey, hey….
I also posted on Humor Bloggers Fantasy Football League Blog for a feature I’ve been doing sporadically called Tuesday Morning Quarterback. This past Tuesday’s post was called Payback for being a douchebag in honor of my losing to another team and how I said at the beginning of the season I wouldn’t be one (yet still was, so lost).
YOU
In addition to posts by many of my favorite bloggers that I’ve already mentioned above, here are a few others that caught my eyes:
- This wasn’t from this past week, but I just realized I didn’t have a Saturday’s Me and You last Saturday. This post by Johnny Virgil at 15 Minute Lunch called Marx my words. I’m going to burn in Music Hell. inspired me to write my first Flashback Friday post at unfinished rambling(s). His post was about going recently to a Richard Marx concert. Mine was about That Time I Took My College Roommate To See Kenneth Gorelick (Kenny G).
- Speaking of going back, I have to give props to Raych @ books i done read 1) for telling it like it is (as if she’d do anything else) about Down To A Sunless Sea, a collection of short stories by Mathias B. Freese the previous week and 2) not backing down from her review after one commenter attacked her and she wrote about it in an unscheduled stop in comment-ville last week.
- Don @ Don’stuff posted about A Day in the Life of a Procrastinator, to which I definitely can relate as I’m getting this post up just barely still on Saturday.
- Diesel @ The Mattress Police reviewed the movie The Brave One, which he thought was The Bland One.
- Lobo @ Predator Press went off last week about how he hates Hittites in A Good, Dead Hittite. Talk about obscure references, but as always, Lobo does it in only the funny way that he can.
I’d like to share more, but I’m up against the clock and don’t feel like backdating this puppy. So there you go…hopefully, you’ll enjoy a few of the links.

Thanks for the mention. I enjoy reading about your week.
Kenny G? I love my wife (and have for more than a quarter of a century), but – as Meatloaf would say – “I won’t do that.”
it’s good to get love on a saturday. glad you liked the contest; just sad neither of us won!
