MOR earworms of the 70s and 80s

Growing up, I couldn’t get out of my head for days on end these two songs that played on MOR radio:

We Don’t Talk Anymore by Cliff Richard:

Working My Way Back To You by The Spinners:

Only later did I learn who the artists were. Out of the two, I think the second one holds up better to the test of the time– of course, having been done by The Four Seasons in 1966, peaking at No. 9 on the Billboard charts. This version deservedly peaked at No. 2.

What earworms do you remember from your childhood?

  1. I loved the Spanish subtitles on the Spinners vid.
The song that sticks in my mind is Me and Mrs. Jones:
(sorry about the English subtitles, I couldn’t find one with Spanish…)

  2. Thanks for sharing, Don. I’ll be honest, I really don’t remember this song, but great song. I was going to comment on the subtitles, but it’s getting too late where I am. Need to go to bed. I’m already preparing next Tuesday’s Tunes post. I’ll leave you guessing to my topic; don’t want to ruin it. When I get time, I need to get back to all your music clips and music-related posts, of which you’ve had a lot recently. Hopefully, this weekend. Busy couple of days ahead. See you later. Night.
