Ten for Tuesday: My 10 Favorite Movie Songs — from Apocalypse Now to Into the Wild

As I couldn’t think up a proper topic for today’s Tuesday’s Tunes, I’m copping out just a little and piggybacking my Tuesday’s Tunes on Ten on Tuesday as suggested by Florinda. Thanks, Florinda.

I decided not to be as strict as Florinda was, and not limit myself to songs made for movie, but keep it as open as possible.

These are in no particular order:

Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries in Apocalypse Now

Lisa Gerrard’s Now We Are Free in Gladiator

Eric Clapton’s Layla in Goodfellas

Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings in Platoon

Ralph Stanley’s O Death in O Brother Where Art Thou?

Tomoyasu Hotei’s Battle without Honor or Humanity in Kill Bill, Vol. 1

Stealers Wheel’s Stuck in the Middle with You in Reservoir Dogs

The Police’s Roxanne (adapted) in Moulin Rouge

Queen’s The Show Must Go On (adapted) in Moulin Rouge

Eddie Vedder’s Hard Sun in Into the Wild

  2. My husband had that music from Kill Bill on his Ten on Tuesday list too. Glad you decided to play along!

  3. Nice! I put the Vedder song on my site, too, after getting stranded in AK.
